Sub-Zero

"Freezer now produces ice. Very knowledgeable and professional."

Our Sub-Zero refrigerator and freezer stopped producing ice. I called Winline and they sent a technician the next day. He identified one defective part, ordered it, and installed it the next day. Highly recommend.

"I now have basically a new Sub-Zero refrigerator/freezer."

Sub-Zero ice cube door was frozen open. The senior technician replaced the defective part, identified and replaced a defective door switch, and also cleaned the condenser and compressor. Thank you Winline!

Sub-Zero

"Conscientious, dedicated, knowledgeable. Highly recommend."

The refrigerator needed to be repaired and the technician replaced the control board. However, it stopped again, and he returned and continued to work on it until he found the real problem.

Sub-Zero Repair Questions, Answered by Specialists

Everything Bay Area homeowners ask before booking. No small print, no surprises.

About Your Sub-Zero

SZDo you repair built-in Sub-Zero refrigerators, including 648PROG, BI-42UFD, and BI-36U?
Yes. We service built-in Sub-Zero models across the BI-series (36", 42", 48"), the Pro 48 series (including 648PROG), 700 Series integrated units, and Designer panels. Our technicians use cabinetry-safe methods during pull-out and reinstallation — no scratched hardwood, no dented custom panels. Most built-in repairs complete on-site in under 2 hours.
SZMy Sub-Zero is leaking water inside. What does that usually mean?
In about 85% of cases it's a clogged defrost drain or a failed drain heater. Sub-Zero's defrost water is supposed to flow to an evaporation pan at the condenser, but when the drain freezes or clogs, water pools under the crisper drawers or runs down the back wall. We diagnose and clear this same-day. If the drain heater has failed, we replace it with a manufacturer-approved part, covered by our 180-day warranty.
SZMy Sub-Zero stopped cooling. Is it the compressor?
Usually not. Before compressor failure, Sub-Zero units typically show other issues first: dirty condenser coils, a failed evaporator fan motor, a bad defrost thermostat, or faulty temperature sensors. A proper diagnosis identifies the real cause. Compressor replacement is possible on older units but much less common than these simpler, less expensive fixes. We confirm the root cause before recommending any major part replacement.
SZMy Sub-Zero is 15+ years old. Is it still worth repairing?
Very often, yes. Sub-Zero units are built to last 25+ years with proper service, and most failure-prone parts — condenser fans, evaporator fans, drain heaters, control boards, sensors — are still available or have direct OEM-equivalent replacements. We'll give you an honest diagnosis, including cases where a repair doesn't make economic sense. No pressure to replace a unit that can still be fixed.

About Our Service

How much does a Sub-Zero repair cost?
Pricing depends on the specific failure and parts required, so we never quote blindly over the phone. Here's how it works: your technician inspects the unit on-site and provides a written, flat-rate estimate before any work begins. If you approve the repair, the diagnostic is included — no separate fee. If you decline, a $99 service call covers the technician's time and travel. No hourly billing, no surprise add-ons.
Do you use genuine Sub-Zero parts or aftermarket?
We use manufacturer-approved parts only — either genuine Sub-Zero OEM where available, or direct-replacement equivalents from OEM suppliers with the same tolerances and specifications as the original. We don't install generic aftermarket parts that risk compressor damage or early re-failure. The part source is always disclosed in your written estimate.
How long will the repair take?
Most Sub-Zero repairs complete in under 2 hours on the first on-site visit. If a part has to be special-ordered — uncommon, since we carry most high-failure parts on the truck — we aim to return and complete within 48 hours. You'll know the full timeline during diagnosis, before work starts.
Do you offer same-day service on weekends?
Yes. We dispatch technicians 7 days a week, 8AM-10PM PST. Same-day availability depends on your location and time of booking, but most Bay Area appointments booked before 2PM receive a same-day slot. Weekend service is the same rate as weekdays — no surcharge.

Trust & Transparency

Are your technicians licensed and insured?
Yes. Winline Technology LLC is state-licensed (License #19111730) and fully insured. Our technicians are trained specifically on Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove systems and work under our company policy — not as independent contractors. One licensed company is accountable for the work, not a rotating list of freelancers.
Will I get a written estimate before any repair begins?
Always. After on-site diagnosis, your technician provides a written, flat-rate estimate with the diagnosed cause, the fix, the parts, and the total price. Nothing is ordered, opened, or started until you approve in writing. No hourly billing, no mid-job upsells, no surprise line items at the end.
Does your service come with a warranty?
Yes. All repairs are backed by our 180-day warranty on both parts and labor. If the same issue recurs within that window, we return and fix it at no charge. On completion you receive a warranty card, payment receipt, and service contract for your records.
